Apparently there has been some long standing confusion about my real name. People seem to have a hard time with the name Jace. They automatically transform it into Chase or Jack or something else other than Jason.
For whatever reason my real name had to be on this certificate, though I’m not sure why. I mean who is going to say “Oh, so, yeah, we’re here to check to make sure that you’ve REALLY learned something. Let’s see your certificate.”
If that day ever happens they had better be checking for college degrees. FNORD
So, uhm, yeah. (If I ever get my college degree, that is. If they’re checking for kicks to the face, I might be able to help them out.)
Martial arts training can help a person become more fit, more flexible, and more disciplined but sometimes you see things in class you just don’t expect. Tonight, the most shocking thing I have seen in a while came from a student from the 8pm teen class.
As the adults were clearing out we gathered in the lobby and chatted a bit as the teens prepared for their class. One young student decided to show off his flexibility in a way that I don’t think any of the adults present were prepared for.
A very disturbing image follows. View at your own risk.

I drew this in the 11th grade. Seriously, what was I smoking?

Inspired by boredom in my algebra class, this was drawn in 1991. There aren’t many school-doodles that I’ve kept this long but this one not only exists in the original form but also this “pen-over”. The original was a light scribble in pencil, while this one is a more defined with thick lines of black pen ink. The eyes are filled in with pencil, and the lips and double-triangle ear-ring are filled in with pen.
So, uhm, yeah.
(or Past)

Okay, so I’m pretty sure I painted this in the 12th grade. The assignment was to draw ourselves exactly as we saw ourselves in the mirror. It didn’t say anything about where we had to be when we looked in the mirror.
I was docked many points for “not following directions” or something of that nature.
So, uhm, yeah.
That was my score from Geometry Wars on the Wii the other night. I’m not superstitious or anything, but I’m always amused when I see numbers such as this show up at seemingly random times.
As for the score, it sucks terribly. My highest ever was over 1 million on XBox Live. I only took this picture because ranking in at 666 would be nearly impossible to do again intentionally.
From my old site…

There are times that I wish I did more work like this. Then I laugh at myself for being such a dork and go back to drawing cool shit like monsters, robots, and giant sausage-worms that are eating people. (Actually, I haven’t drawn the sausage one just quite yet but it sounds like an excellent project!)
So, uhm, yeah.

I know you’re thinking “Oh, you’re so clever. You named your character Fucker.” Well, you are wrong. I named my character Fuse! Bluebear just hates me. :(
The old Jacefuse.Com (circa 1997) had an art gallery, a poetry section, some idiotic little rants, and eventually a few really interesting pictures of UFOs, mating spiders, and my beloved Camaros. I have no intentions of putting the old site back up (at the moment) but I do intend to reintroduce some of the worthwhile bits back to teh En7aN3tZ. FNORD

Pictured here is Trisha Talacoalabara, one of several characters from my novel. The floating droid is actually Nalias Trason’s. I’m not sure why I always picture him with Trisha. Maybe I should have drawn Nalias more? |
I don’t remember anything about that class other than drawing this picture. The original is looking kind of rough and this scan is a very low DPI compared to modern day scanners.
So, uhm, yeah. Shhh. I’m working on a top-secret art project!
Every one of us sees some text every day that tells us something important. The importance of that text will very depending on where you are and the nature of the information being portrayed. After a while we completely tune out even the most important ones. They might as well be invisible for as little attention we pay to them.
One sign I pay no attention to is the one below. Which should concern me more? The sign or my lack of concern?
FNORD!
Notice the comment! :)
Now there are a lot of really great cross platform emulators. Snes9x of course Mame are two of the more popular ones available for most platforms, but Magic Engine and GENS do not seem to have complete and functional OS X ports (there was one project to port it over, but it doesn’t appear to have gone far).
So I set out to find alternatives and was somewhat surprised to find several really good ones. In fact, the TurboGraphics 16 emulator for OS X is at least as good as Magic Engine on the PC. While finding a TG16 emulator I found emulators for both SNES and GENESIS that were also really nice, and all three were built on the same front end giving them all a similar set of features wrapped around different emulator cores. (The emulator cores are free and the shell is shareware. This is somewht amusing to me since the shell is the easy part, and the emulator cores themselves are somewhat more complex.)
Overall I’m impressed with the emulation selection on the Mac. I was a little worried that the emulation scene wouldn’t be all that active here in OS X land but it seems to be doing quite well. I was able to get emulators for SNES, GENESIS, TG-16, NES, and GBA, as well as the Amiga. And as you can see from the screen shot, emulation performance is pretty good on the Macbook Pro.
So, uhm, yeah. M
Oh, hush about piracy. I still have the cartridges for Axelay and Sidearms, and once had Life Force. Zero Wing was never released in the US, and it sucks anyway.
