Perpetual Bullshit Machine

January 6th, 2008 | Posted in General |

Since most of you are bound to eventually hear about this from someone I figured I would take a little time right now to go ahead and tell you all that what the video below shows is not at all what it looks like it’s showing.

Honestly I can’t tell you what the machine in this video is actually doing but I can tell you what it isn’t doing. It isn’t “creating” energy. It isn’t producing power out of thin air, nor are the magnets generating power.

Though it’s hard to speculate without actually inspecting the device first hand, my initial gut reaction is to say that there is a power source somewhere and either the whole thing is just a fancy motor with a concealed battery or there is a hidden motor somewhere driving the whole thing.

I’m sure the truth will eventually reveal itself, but for now take a look at this video and see what you think.

So, uhm, yeah. Actually, I drafted designs for a machine just like this about 20 years ago. Today I understand why it isn’t really possible.

I think its trying to prove perpetual motion using magnetic force. The repulsion and attraction of the magnents are set up to keep the center spinning when force is applied. It’s actually a pretty nice example considering the vector calculous and torque calculations involved, totally over my head. Perpetual motion isn’t actually possible because of friction, and a lot of other laws of physics it breaks, besides it would take forever to prove…. There is a really nice site about it all here…. http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/museum/unwork.htm

Thanks a whole lot. You’ve just given a minimal touch on the subject that practically EVERYONE who visits my blog already knows. :)

Your efforts are appreciated. Oh, and when I said “I don’t know what this machine is actually doing”, I meant I wasn’t sure what kind of fake this machine is. In the off chance it’s actually just a fancy flywheel (possible, but I don’t believe it), it’s still going to spin down on its own over time.

I still believe there is a battery concealed somewhere, but….

I apologize, I go to college so I am used to everyone being retarded and asking dumb ass questions about things they should have learned in middle school. I really thought you ment you didn’t know. :)
